Guide
TypeDle is a daily Pokémon guessing game. There's one secret Pokémon per day, shared by everyone who plays. You get 6 guesses to figure out who it is, and each wrong guess reveals another clue about the answer's type matchups, origin, and traits.
Type a Pokémon's name into the guess box and submit it. If you're right, you win and the round ends immediately. If you're wrong, the guess is recorded, a new clue row is revealed, and you get another try, for up to 6 guesses total per day.
The "Weak to" row is visible from the start. Every wrong guess reveals one more row, in this order:
Guesses 5 and 6 don't reveal anything new; they're your last chances to use everything you've already seen to lock in the answer.
Every guess is listed in the guesses panel with one indicator for each of its types. An indicator turns green when that type is shared with the answer; types that do not match stay muted. Each type is checked separately, so one green indicator means one matching type, while two green indicators mean both types match. Matching types do not necessarily mean you have found the correct Pokémon.
Finishing a round gives you a spoiler-free emoji grid: one square per guess, green only on the winning one. It never contains the answer's name, so you can post it anywhere without ruining the day for anyone.
Solve the daily puzzle to keep your streak going. Miss a day or run out of guesses and it resets. Your best streak is saved so you can track your progress over time. Every result also contributes to a global guess-distribution chart, so you can see how everyone else did on the same puzzle.
Playing as a guest works fine: your in-progress round is kept on your own device, so a refresh won't lose it. Creating an account adds the parts a single device can't do, syncing your streak, stats, and completed days everywhere you play, and putting you on the leaderboard. You can also add friends by username to see a leaderboard of just the people you know.
TypeDle can be installed to your home screen or desktop from your browser's menu. It then opens in its own window, keeps working when you're offline, and behaves like any other app on your device.
Settings has a light, dark, or system theme, a high-contrast mode, a reduced-motion mode that turns off flips and other animations, and a toggle for sound effects. The board is keyboard navigable throughout: Enter submits a guess, the arrow keys move through suggestions, Esc closes a dialog, and ? opens the in-game help.
Start with a Pokémon whose typing you're confident about. The "Weak to" row alone often narrows things down to a handful of type combinations before you've used a single guess.
